Happy New Year everyone,

This past Advent season flew by so quickly that I almost feel like I missed something.  It seemed like just yesterday when we set the Christmas trees up in our sanctuary in hopes of bringing the Christmas spirit alive once again.

During that same week, ten pastor’s wives in our Central District flew into Detroit for a wonderful time of fellowship and retreat.

Our College and Singles Group gathered together on Wednesday December 4th to make some dumplings, and it was a perfect way to start the Christmas season as a community.

In preparation for our Christmas Concert service on December 22, Brian Lee organized a beautiful group of singers and musicians to practice each week.

Each week in December was filled with concerts, and Christmas parties that kept all of us on our toes.  First was the College & Singles’ Christmas Gala held at TPC Golf Club in Dearborn.

Then we had our Sunday School Department Christmas Party for all the teachers and staff on Sunday December 8 followed by a Christmas Concert on Wednesday December 18 where our Children and Youth presented songs and skits.

We also had a commissioning service, farewell dinner and finally a send off for H and J as they left for missions.

We were also blessed to have many of our College students home for the holidays and I was able to host a Christmas party where we had good food and fun fellowship.

On that same Saturday December 21, our Audio Visual and Worship team gathered at Tim and Eugenia’s for a Christmas celebration and appreciation dinner.

As Christmas came closer, we had a wonderful Baptism service for two infants and one adult.  Justin Yu and his daughter Isla got baptized on the same day as Neomi Palos also received her baptism in front of her entire family.

Last but not least, on Christmas Eve, 59 people came together to worship our Lord and Savior.  It was truly a spirit filled night.

As the New Year arrives, my hope and prayer are for all of you to lean more on God and draw closer to Him.  Allow the Holy Spirit to fill you completely each day with strength and power so that you can face all the challenges that may come in 2025.  May God give us His Story so that we can share it to the world.
